Happy B'day to 'Movie Moghul'-June 6th

D Ramanaidu turns 73!
Dr D Ramanaidu was born in a rich farmers' family at Karamchedu. He went to the then Madras (now Chennai) to become a hero. However, he turned a producer. He had produced more than 100 films and earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

He had established a studio, labs, distribution offices for the promotion of Telugu cinema. One of his sons was a producer, while another son is a hero. Like this, he and his family are serving the film industry than anyone else in the Telugu film industry.

Popular as Movie Moghul, Dr D Ramanaidu is celebrating his birthday on June 6.

In fact, Ramanaidu went to Madras to become a hero. But he could not grab any opportunities. However, with the inspiration and encouragement given by the late NT Ramarao, Ramanaidu turned a producer.

The basic characteristic of a producer is the right judgment. A person who could make a correct judgement on — What kind of story had to be okayed for making a film, what kind of technicians and artistes should be selected for the subject — would become a successful producer.

Ramanaidu is a living example for these qualities. On one occasion, popular script writer DV Narasa Raju claimed that Ramanaidu accepted a story, which was rejected by several producers for about seven years. The same subject was proved a blockbuster those days in the form of 'Ramudu Bheemudu'.

It successfully ran for more than 100 days during those days. True to the maxim 'To err is human', Ramanaidu's judgment went wrong in case of some films and he almost turned bankrupt. At that juncture, Akkineni Nageswara Rao encouraged Ramanaidu and advised him to do 'Prem Nagar' and it became another blockbuster and recouped him from losses.

After some more time, again Ramanaidu's financial status was hit badly and 'Devata' directed by K Raghavendra Rao with Sobhanbabu, Sridevi, Jayaprada and Mohanbabu in the lead saved him by turning a super duper hit. With that, Ramanaidu earned a fixed place among the top producers of the Telugu film industry.

In his career, Ramanaidu had produced more than 100 films and is continuing to do projects even now. His recent film 'Madhumasam' had also successfully completed 100 days.

He was quite cheerful and competes with the youth even at this age. Cinema is his dream, cinema is his food and cinema is his life. In fact, cinema is everything for him. Ramanaidu was addicted so much to films that he would even think about films even when he was asleep.

He doesn't know anything in the world other than films. It is Ramanaidu who had introduced several prominent film personalities to the film industry. Noted director cum producer EVV Satyanarayana, Muppalaneni Siva, music director MM Srilekha were among the few who were introduced to the films by Ramanaidu.

Not only in the film industry, he would be in the forefront for several other social service activities. The building that accommodated film chamber, producers council, movie artistes association and directors' association was given by Ramanaidu itself.

Not only this, Dr Ramanaidu also constructed and maintaining an old age home for the old people. Though he was in the film industry for the past several years, he had no differences with anyone and has no rivals/ enemies.

mydummies wishes this great producer many more happy birthdays. Join us in wishing him a happy birthday and let the God give him many more years of life to enable him to serve the Telugu film industry.
